Modility turns 1! There are plenty of reasons to celebrate, as after our first twelve months of operation we take a very positive look back: Since the official launch of our CT booking portal in March 2021, more than 200 companies have registered and over 370 European rail connections are now available at www.modility.com. We have achieved our goal for 2021 of mediating transports in the triple-digit range. And this is only the beginning, because the new year is off to another promising start.
In August 2021, we successfully completed the nine-month pilot phase, during which Modility was tested and further developed under real-life conditions. "The response from our users and from the market has confirmed that we have hit a nerve with Modility," emphasizes Managing Director Hendrik-Emmanuel Eichentopf. "When it comes to entering the world of rail freight, finding suitable partners for transport, and providing support in communication and processing, Modility can create real added value."
As of now, more than 200 companies have registered with Modility. Demanders such as freight forwarders and shipping companies can now choose from a bookable network of around 370 maritime hinterland as well as continental connections, which currently cover 80 terminals in 15 European countries. And it continues to grow!
"The expansion of bookable services was a key element in the past year," says Sales Manager Michelle Friedrich. "We are pleased that so many operators have already added single connections or even their entire network to the portal and discovered Modility as an additional sales channel.“ Through the growing offer, users are increasingly finding and booking suitable connections via the portal, she adds. A transport volume in the triple-digit range has already been mediated via Modility and thus brought onto the climate-friendly rail.
Modility's functional scope will be further expanded in a user-centric manner. Product Owner Erik Fiske: "Currently, the focus is on mapping the different business models and CT booking variants, while maintaining the ease of use that characterizes Modility and enables even inexperienced companies to find, plan and book CT transports." While in the first step the main attention was on the combination of road and rail, the development team is already working in close cooperation with customers and partners to integrate additional modes of transport.
"We want to establish Modility as a search engine and matchmaker for intermodal transports," says Hendrik-Emmanuel Eichentopf. "We have built the base for this in the past few months. Now we need to keep up the pace in all areas." In addition to developing new features and expanding the bookable offerings, the focus is on bringing new users on board, he says.
The entire modility team says THANK YOU to all of our customers, partners and supporters who stand by our side and help us make transportation easier, greener and better. We are excited to continue this journey and to celebrate many more anniversaries together.
